  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RS2HANA_CHECK111 - Not authorized to access InfoProvider with activity Display (03) ?

The SAP error message RS2HANA_CHECK111 indicates that a user is not authorized to access a specific InfoProvider with the activity "Display" (activity code 03). This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when trying to access data in HANA-based InfoProviders.

    Cause:

The primary cause of this error is a lack of proper authorizations for the user attempting to access the InfoProvider. This can happen due to:

    1. Missing Authorization Objects: The user may not have the necessary authorization objects assigned to their user profile.
    2. Role Assignment: The user may not be assigned to the correct roles that include access to the InfoProvider.
    3. InfoProvider-Specific Restrictions: The InfoProvider may have specific restrictions that limit access based on user roles or authorizations.

    Solution:

To resolve the RS2HANA_CHECK111 error, follow these steps:

    1. Check User Authorizations:

      • Use transaction code SU53 immediately after the error occurs to see the authorization check failure. This will provide insights into which authorization object is missing.

    2. Review Role Assignments:

      • Ensure that the user has the appropriate roles assigned that include access to the InfoProvider. You can check this in transaction PFCG.
      • If the user does not have the necessary roles, you may need to assign them or create a new role that includes the required authorizations.
    3. Authorization Objects:

        • S_RS_COMP: For InfoProvider access.
