  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A privilege needed to access the OLAP view of the InfoProvider is
missing. This privilege may also be needed by all authorized BW users on
this InfoProvider, in order to access the generated SAP HANA view.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

If errors occur when trying to read data from the generated SAP HANA
view of the InfoProvider, try activating the InfoProvider again. This
should generate the correct SQL analytic privileges for the additional
    OLAP view.
You can run this report again using the check "Run Example SQL Select on
SAP HANA Views" enabled and using the display option "Filter Strings
Using Direct Table Access and SAP HANA Procedure Call". If either of
these options does not work, this means that the OLAP view exists and
    the privilege is missing.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RS2HANA_CHECK077 - Privilege on OLAP view is missing in SQL analytic privilege ?

The SAP error message RS2HANA_CHECK077 indicates that a user is trying to access an OLAP view (typically a calculation view or a CDS view) in SAP HANA, but they do not have the necessary privileges to do so. This is often related to SQL analytic privileges that control access to data in HANA.

    Cause:

    The error occurs when:

    1. The user does not have the required SQL analytic privileges to access the specific OLAP view.
    2. The analytic privilege does not include the necessary access rights for the view or the underlying data.
    3. The view may be restricted by certain conditions that the user does not meet.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check User Privileges:

      • Verify the SQL analytic privileges assigned to the user. You can do this by checking the roles assigned to the user in the SAP HANA database.
    2. Modify Analytic Privileges:

      • If the user lacks the necessary privileges, you may need to modify the existing analytic privileges or create a new one that includes access to the OLAP view.
      • Ensure that the analytic privilege includes the required access to the specific view and any relevant data sources.
    3. Assign the Correct Role:

      • Ensure that the user is assigned a role that includes the necessary analytic privileges. You can do this through the SAP HANA Studio or SAP HANA Cockpit.
    4. Test Access:

      • After making changes, test the access again to ensure that the user can now access the OLAP view without encountering the error.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation for detailed information on managing analytic privileges and roles in SAP HANA.

    Related Information:

    • Analytic Privileges: These are used in SAP HANA to control access to data at a more granular level. They can restrict access based on specific conditions, such as values in certain columns.
    • Roles and Users: In SAP HANA, users are assigned roles that define their permissions. Each role can contain multiple privileges, including analytic privileges.
    • SAP HANA Studio/Cockpit: Tools used to manage users, roles, and privileges in SAP HANA.

By ensuring that the user has the appropriate analytic privileges and roles, you should be able to resolve the RS2HANA_CHECK077 error.
