Message number: 284
Message text: Recipe &1 exists under recipe (GUID) &2 in the target system
The update indicator "I" (= insert) is used in recipe distribution.
When you distribute a recipe, the system checks whether the recipe
already exists before it transfers the data. Since the recipe to be
distributed already exists in the target system, no data is
transferred.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Since the recipe already exists in the target system, the distribution
can be performed in the update mode only.
You only need to change the value of the update indicator in the
structure of the general recipe to "U". You do not need to set the
update indicator in lower-level structures.

RMSRCP284
- Recipe &1 exists under recipe (GUID) &2 in the target system ?The SAP error message RMSRCP284 indicates that there is a conflict during the transport of a recipe in the Recipe Management module. Specifically, it means that a recipe with the same name (or identifier) already exists in the target system under a different GUID (Globally Unique Identifier). This can occur during the transport of recipes from one SAP system to another, such as from a development environment to a production environment.
Cause:

- Different GUIDs: The existing recipe has a different GUID, which means it is treated as a separate entity by the system.
- Transport Order Issues: There may be issues with the transport order or the sequence in which objects are being transported.
Solution:
- Check Existing Recipes: Before transporting, check the target system for existing recipes with the same name. You can do this by using transaction codes like
C201
orC203
to view recipes.- Rename or Modify: If the existing recipe is not needed, you can delete it or rename the new recipe in the source system before transporting.
- Use Transport Management System (TMS): Ensure that the transport order is correctly set up and that the recipes are being transported in the correct sequence.
- Manual Adjustment: If necessary, you can manually adjust the recipe in the target system to resolve the conflict. This may involve changing the GUID or merging the recipes if they are similar.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to Recipe Management for any specific guidelines or best practices regarding recipe transport.
