Message text: Assignment is not possible; recipe with dependent formula
The formula you entered is an independent formula. However, using
dependent formulas has been activated in Customizing for the recipe
type of the recipe you selected (see <DS:DE.PVS_REMTCTRL_FORM>Formula
assign.</> indicator). The formula of the recipe was therefore created
when the recipe was created and is firmly assigned to it. You cannot
change this assignment. For this reason, the system does not accept the
formula you entered.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Make the required changes in the dependent formula. The formula is only
used in the current recipe.

RMSRCP113
- Assignment is not possible; recipe with dependent formula ?The SAP error message RMSRCP113, which states "Assignment is not possible; recipe with dependent formula," typically occurs in the context of SAP Recipe Management (RMS) when there is an attempt to assign a recipe that has dependencies on other formulas or recipes. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when trying to change or delete a recipe that is linked to other recipes or formulas.
Cause:
- Dependent Formulas: The recipe you are trying to assign has dependent formulas that are linked to it. This means that the recipe cannot be modified or assigned without addressing these dependencies.
- Data Integrity: SAP enforces data integrity rules to ensure that changes do not lead to inconsistencies in the system. If a recipe is tied to other objects, it cannot be altered without resolving those ties.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the system that prevent the assignment due to the way recipes and formulas are structured.
Solution:
- Check Dependencies: Review the recipe and identify any dependent formulas or recipes. You can do this by navigating to the recipe in question and checking its relationships with other objects.
- Modify or Remove Dependencies: If possible, modify or remove the dependent formulas or recipes that are causing the issue. Ensure that any changes made do not violate business rules or data integrity.
- Use Transaction Codes: Utilize relevant transaction codes (like C201 for creating recipes or C202 for changing them) to manage the recipes and their dependencies effectively.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on managing recipes and formulas in your version of SAP.
- Seek Help from SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot resolve it, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They can provide insights based on your specific configuration and version.
