RH035
- The subtree root &1 does not exist in the target hierarchy ?The SAP error message RH035, which states "The subtree root &1 does not exist in the target hierarchy," typically occurs in the context of organizational management or when working with hierarchical structures in SAP, such as positions, jobs, or organizational units.
Cause:
This error usually arises when you are trying to perform an operation (like a transfer, copy, or move) on a node in a hierarchy, but the specified node (subtree root) does not exist in the target hierarchy. This can happen due to several reasons:
- Incorrect Node Reference: The node you are trying to reference does not exist in the target hierarchy.
- Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the data, such as missing entries or incorrect configurations.
- Hierarchy Changes: The hierarchy may have been modified (nodes added or removed) after the last update, leading to references that are no longer valid.
- Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to view or access certain nodes in the hierarchy.
Solution:
To resolve the RH035 error, you can take the following steps:
Verify Node Existence: Check if the node (subtree root) specified in the error message actually exists in the target hierarchy. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction (like PPOME or PPOSE) and searching for the node.
Check Hierarchy Structure: Ensure that the hierarchy structure is correct and that all necessary nodes are present. If nodes have been deleted or moved, you may need to update your references accordingly.
Review Data Consistency: Use transaction codes like
PPOME
orPPOSE
to review the organizational structure and ensure that all nodes are correctly linked and that there are no inconsistencies.Authorization Check: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to access the nodes in question. If you suspect authorization issues, consult with your SAP security team.
Recreate the Node: If the node is missing and should exist, you may need to recreate it in the target hierarchy.
Consult Documentation: If the issue persists, refer to SAP documentation or support notes related to organizational management and hierarchy management for further guidance.
