  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RESCSH027 - SU vacancy percentage &1% ignored due to settlement parameter ?

The SAP error message RESCSH027 indicates that a vacancy percentage for a settlement parameter is being ignored. This typically occurs in the context of resource management or capacity planning within SAP, particularly in the SAP Controlling (CO) or Project System (PS) modules.

    Cause:

The error message is triggered when the system encounters a situation where the specified vacancy percentage (in this case, &1%) cannot be applied due to the current configuration of settlement parameters. This can happen for several reasons, including:

    1. Settlement Configuration: The settlement parameters for the project or resource may not allow for vacancy percentages to be applied. This could be due to settings that dictate how costs are allocated or settled.

    2. Resource Planning Settings: The resource planning settings may not be compatible with the vacancy percentage being specified. For example, if the resource is set to be fully utilized, any vacancy percentage would be ignored.

    3. Project Status: The status of the project or resource may restrict changes to vacancy percentages. If the project is in a certain status (e.g., completed or closed), the system may not allow adjustments.

    Solution:

To resolve the RESCSH027 error, consider the following steps:

    1. Review Settlement Parameters: Check the settlement parameters for the project or resource in question. Ensure that they are configured to allow for vacancy percentages. You may need to adjust these settings to enable the use of vacancy percentages.

    2. Adjust Resource Planning Settings: If the resource planning settings are too restrictive, consider modifying them to allow for vacancy percentages. This may involve changing the utilization settings or other related parameters.

    3. Check Project Status: Verify the status of the project or resource. If it is in a status that does not allow for changes, you may need to change the status or create a new project/resource to apply the desired vacancy percentage.

    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on configuring settlement parameters and resource planning settings.

    5. Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists after reviewing the settings, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance. They can provide insights based on the specific configuration of your SAP system.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CJ20N (Project Builder), CJI3 (Project Actual Line Items), or KP26 (Change Plan Data) to review and adjust project and resource settings.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any SAP Notes related to RESCSH027 or vacancy percentage handling in your version of SAP, as there may be specific patches or updates that address this issue.
    • Training and Documentation: Consider training sessions or documentation on resource management and project settlement in SAP to better understand how these parameters interact.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the RESCSH027 error and implement a solution to allow for the desired vacancy percentage in your SAP system.
