Message number: 017
Message text: Set IDs are not unique after grouping
You selected a grouping field. A set with the relevant objects is
generated for every value of this field from the selected data. However,
the template entered for the set names does not contain a percentage
sign (%) as a placeholder. As a result, all sets to be generated would
have the same name.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Use the placeholder % in the set names. This is replaced by the value in
the grouping field when the set is generated.

REEXST017
- Set IDs are not unique after grouping ?The SAP error message REEXST017 indicates that there is an issue with the uniqueness of Set IDs after a grouping operation in the SAP system. This typically occurs in the context of SAP's Real Estate Management (RE) module, where Set IDs are used to group various objects or data entries.
Cause:
The error arises when the system detects that the Set IDs generated or used in a particular operation (like grouping) are not unique. This can happen due to several reasons:
- Duplicate Entries: There may be duplicate Set IDs in the data being processed.
- Incorrect Grouping Logic: The logic used to group the data may not be correctly implemented, leading to non-unique Set IDs.

Solution:
To resolve the REEXST017 error, you can take the following steps:
Check for Duplicates:
- Review the data entries involved in the grouping operation to identify any duplicate Set IDs.
- Use transaction codes like SE16 or SE11 to query the relevant database tables and check for duplicates.
Adjust Grouping Logic:
- If you are using custom logic for grouping, ensure that it correctly generates unique Set IDs for each group.
- Review the code or configuration that handles the grouping to ensure it adheres to the uniqueness requirement.
Data Cleanup:
- If duplicates are found, you may need to clean up the data by either deleting or merging duplicate entries.
- Ensure that the data integrity is maintained after cleanup.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the RE module for any specific guidelines on handling Set IDs and grouping.
