- Recreated variable has an inconsistent state ?The SAP error message R9127, which states "Recreated variable has an inconsistent state," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when dealing with variables in queries or reports. This error indicates that a variable that has been recreated (or modified) is not in a valid state for processing.
Causes:
- Inconsistent Variable Definition: The variable may have been modified or recreated without proper adjustments to its dependencies or settings.
- Data Source Changes: Changes in the underlying data source or InfoProvider that the variable relies on can lead to inconsistencies.
- Transport Issues: If the variable was transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), it may not have been properly configured in the target environment.
- Missing Authorizations: Sometimes, the user executing the query may not have the necessary authorizations to access the variable or its underlying data.
- Incorrect Variable Settings: The settings for the variable (e.g., default values, selection options) may not be correctly configured.
Solutions:
- Check Variable Definition: Review the variable definition in the query designer or the relevant transaction (e.g., RSA1 for InfoObjects). Ensure that all settings are correct and consistent.
- Recreate the Variable: If the variable is corrupted or improperly configured, consider deleting it and recreating it from scratch.
- Validate Data Sources: Ensure that the data sources and InfoProviders associated with the variable are correctly set up and accessible.
- Check Authorizations: Verify that the user has the necessary authorizations to access the variable and the data it references.
- Transport Validation: If the variable was transported, check the transport logs for any errors and ensure that all dependencies were also transported correctly.
- Test in Different Environments: If possible, test the variable in a different environment (e.g., development or quality assurance) to see if the issue persists.
Related Information:
If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or BW team for further investigation.
