Cause:
- Invalid Extract Structure: The extract structure defined for the DataSource is either missing or has been modified in a way that makes it invalid.
- DataSource Configuration Issues: The DataSource may not be correctly configured in the SAP system, leading to discrepancies between the DataSource and the underlying data model.
- Changes in Underlying Tables: If the underlying tables or fields that the DataSource is based on have been changed (e.g., fields added, removed, or renamed), this can lead to the extract structure becoming invalid.
- Transport Issues: If the DataSource was transported from one system to another, there may have been issues during the transport process that caused the extract structure to become invalid.
Solution:
- Check Extract Structure: Go to the DataSource in the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1) and check the extract structure. Ensure that it is correctly defined and that all fields are valid.
- Recreate the DataSource: If the extract structure is invalid, you may need to recreate the DataSource. This can be done by deleting the existing DataSource and creating a new one with the correct settings.
- Adjust DataSource Settings: If there have been changes to the underlying tables, you may need to adjust the DataSource settings to reflect these changes. This may involve modifying the extract structure or mapping.
- Check for Transport Issues: If the DataSource was recently transported, check the transport logs for any errors. You may need to re-transport the DataSource or manually adjust it in the target system.
- Activate the DataSource: After making changes, ensure that you activate the DataSource and the associated extract structure.
