  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message R7I150 - Only selected objects of the same type copied ?

The SAP error message R7I150, which states "Only selected objects of the same type copied," typically occurs during the process of copying or transporting objects in the SAP system. This error indicates that the system has detected an attempt to copy objects of different types, which is not allowed.

    Cause:

The primary cause of this error is that the user is trying to copy multiple objects that belong to different categories or types (e.g., trying to copy a table and a function module together). SAP requires that only objects of the same type can be copied in a single operation.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Object Types: Review the list of objects you are trying to copy. Ensure that all selected objects are of the same type. For example, if you are copying ABAP programs, make sure all selected items are ABAP programs.

    2. Separate Copy Operations: If you need to copy different types of objects, perform separate copy operations for each type. For instance, first copy all tables, then copy all function modules, and so on.

    3. Use Transport Organizer: If you are using the Transport Organizer (SE09 or SE10), ensure that you are grouping objects correctly based on their types before attempting to transport them.

    4. Check for Dependencies: Sometimes, objects may have dependencies on other types. Ensure that you are aware of these dependencies and handle them appropriately.

    5. Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the types of objects you are working with, refer to SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on object types and their relationships.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as SE09 (Transport Organizer), SE10 (Transport Organizer for Workbench Requests), and SE80 (Object Navigator).
    • SAP Notes: Check for any SAP Notes related to this error message for additional insights or updates that may address specific scenarios.
    • User Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to copy the objects in question, as permission issues can sometimes lead to unexpected errors.
