  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message R7I133 - InfoObject &1 from provider &2 required due to compounding InfoObject &3 ?

The SAP error message R7I133 typically indicates that there is a requirement for a specific InfoObject due to compounding relationships in your data model. This error often arises in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when dealing with InfoObjects and their dependencies.

    Cause:

The error message R7I133 occurs when:

    • An InfoObject (let's call it InfoObject &1) is required because it is compounded with another InfoObject (InfoObject &3) that is being used in a query or data model.
    • The provider (e.g., a DataSource, InfoProvider, or InfoCube) indicated by &2 does not contain the required InfoObject &1, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the compounding relationship.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Compounding Relationships:

      • Review the compounding relationship between the InfoObjects. Ensure that InfoObject &1 is correctly defined as a compound of InfoObject &3.
    2. Add Missing InfoObject:

      • If InfoObject &1 is indeed required, you may need to add it to the provider (e.g., InfoCube, DataSource) indicated by &2. This can involve modifying the structure of the InfoProvider to include the necessary InfoObject.
    3. Adjust Queries:

      • If you are running a query that references InfoObject &1, ensure that the query is correctly set up to include all necessary InfoObjects. You may need to adjust the query to avoid referencing InfoObject &1 if it is not needed.
    4. Data Model Review:

      • Review the overall data model to ensure that all dependencies and relationships are correctly defined. This may involve checking the InfoObjects, InfoProviders, and any transformations or data flows.
    5. Transport Requests:

      • If changes are made in a development environment, ensure that they are transported to the production environment correctly.
    6. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed guidance on managing InfoObjects and compounding relationships.

    Related Information:

    • InfoObjects: These are the basic building blocks in SAP BW/BI that represent characteristics and key figures.
    • Compounding: This is a feature in SAP BW that allows you to create a hierarchy of InfoObjects, where one InfoObject can be dependent on another.
    • Data Providers: These are sources of data in SAP BW, such as InfoCubes, DataStore Objects (DSOs), and MultiProviders.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or BW team for further investigation, as they may have access to logs and additional tools to diagnose the problem.
