Message text: Check compounding consistency
The compounding consistency must be checked when the characteristics and
navigation attributes are identified for a MultiProvider. For more
information and examples, see the SAP Notes 920416 and 931597.
Due to existing productively used scenarios in the BW systems,
inconsistencies were previously regarded as warnings and not as errors.
This can lead to incorrect query results, depending on the data.
As of release SAP Netweaver 2007, it is therefore necessary to
explicitly identify MultiProviders where compounding inconsistencies are
permitted. The new flag (introduced specifically for this purpose)
means:
#With this MultiProvider, objects with compounding inconsistencies are
permitted because the data constellation ensures that incorrect results
cannot occur in queries.#
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
You must now decide if you want to make the MultiProvider <LS>tolerant
of compounding inconsistencies</>.
If you want to have the MultiProvider thoroughly checked for compounding
consistencies, do not select this flag. This is the default setting and
is recommended by SAP. Messages about compounding consistency are issued
as errors during the check.
If you are sure that no incorrect query results will be produced despite
compounding inconsistencies, and that the MultiProvider must be defined
in this way because it is productively used, you can select this flag.
Messages about compounding consistency are only issued as warnings
during the check.

- Review Hierarchies: Check the hierarchies associated with the InfoObjects to ensure they are correctly defined and consistent with the compounding relationships.
- Use Transaction RSRV: You can use transaction RSRV (Check Data Consistency) to analyze and check for inconsistencies in the InfoObjects and their relationships. This transaction can help identify specific issues that need to be addressed.
- Rebuild InfoObjects: In some cases, it may be necessary to rebuild the InfoObjects or their relationships to resolve the inconsistency.
