Message text: Data type QUAN is not allowed for stock coverage key figures
The OLAP processor processes key figures with data type QUAN separately
regarding the decimal places. The maximum number of allowed decimal
places is reduced to the number of decimal places defined for the fixed
unit.
This can differ from the mandatory minimum of two decimal places for
Stock Coverage key figures. This can then result in rounding being
performed by the UI, and incorrect results being displayed whereas the
actual calculations performed by the OLAP processor are correct.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Use another data type<(>,<)> for example FLOAT.

- Incorrect Data Type: The key figure you are trying to use for stock coverage is defined with a data type of QUAN, which is not compatible with the requirements for stock coverage calculations. - Modeling Errors: The key figure might have been incorrectly modeled or defined in the InfoProvider or planning model.
Solution:
- Change Data Type: Review the definition of the key figure in the data model. If it is currently set to QUAN, change it to a compatible data type such as NUM or CURR, depending on the requirements of your stock coverage calculations.
- Check Key Figure Settings: Ensure that the key figure settings are correctly configured for stock coverage. This includes checking the aggregation and calculation settings.
- Recreate Key Figure: If changing the data type is not feasible, consider creating a new key figure with the correct data type and using it for stock coverage calculations.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on defining key figures for stock coverage in your version of SAP BW or IBP.
- Testing: After making changes, test the calculations to ensure that the error is resolved and that the stock coverage key figures are functioning as expected.
