- Navigation attributes cannot be used in all InfoProvider types ?The SAP error message R7B344 indicates that navigation attributes are being used in a context where they are not supported. This typically occurs when you are trying to use navigation attributes in an InfoProvider type that does not allow them, such as a standard InfoCube or a DataStore Object (DSO) that does not support navigation attributes.
Cause:
- Incompatible InfoProvider Type: Navigation attributes can only be used in certain types of InfoProviders, such as MultiProviders or CompositeProviders. If you attempt to use them in an InfoCube or DSO that does not support them, you will encounter this error.
- Modeling Error: There may be a modeling error where navigation attributes are incorrectly assigned or configured in the InfoProvider.
Solution:
- Check InfoProvider Type: Verify the type of InfoProvider you are working with. If it is an InfoCube or DSO, consider whether you can redesign your model to avoid using navigation attributes or switch to a compatible InfoProvider type.
- Remove Navigation Attributes: If the InfoProvider type does not support navigation attributes, you may need to remove them from your model or find an alternative way to achieve the desired functionality without using navigation attributes.
- Use CompositeProviders: If you need to use navigation attributes, consider using CompositeProviders or MultiProviders, which support navigation attributes and allow for more complex data modeling.
- Review Documentation: Consult the SAP documentation for the specific version you are using to understand the limitations and capabilities of the InfoProvider types you are working with.
