Message text: Characteristic &1 Conversion routine change to &2
The conversion routine for characteristic &V1& has changed to &V2&.
The existing values for characteristic &V1& have not been modified
correctly. The characteristic therefore cannot be activated if there is
still master data, SIDs, texts or data in DataStore objects for the
characteristic.
This affects the ALPHA, NUMCV, and GJAHR conversion routines. The values
can no longer be found in the tables after the conversion, as values are
not converted automatically.
Other conversion routines can be changed, but this can also be
problematic. You should therefore check manually whether values are
still correct after changing the routine.
Undo the change to the conversion routine or delete all master data from
characterstic &V1&.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Cause:
- Change in Conversion Routine: The error usually arises when the conversion routine for a characteristic has been changed in the InfoObject definition. This can happen due to updates or modifications made to the InfoObject or its associated data model.
- Data Inconsistency: If the data in the InfoProvider or InfoCube is not consistent with the new conversion routine, it can lead to this error.
- Transport Issues: If the InfoObject was transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), and the conversion routine was not properly updated or synchronized, this error may occur.
Solution:
- Check Conversion Routines: Review the conversion routines for the characteristic in question. Ensure that the routine is correctly defined and that it matches the expected format and logic.
- Update InfoObjects: If the conversion routine has been changed, you may need to update the InfoObjects that use this characteristic to ensure they are aligned with the new routine.
- Re-activate InfoObjects: Sometimes, reactivating the InfoObject can resolve inconsistencies. You can do this by going to the InfoObject maintenance and reactivating it.
- Data Consistency Check: Perform a data consistency check to identify any records that may be causing the issue. You can use transaction codes like RSA1 to check the data in the InfoProvider.
- Transport Management: If the issue is related to transport, ensure that all relevant objects and their dependencies are included in the transport request and that they are correctly imported into the target system.
