R7538
- Key fig. &1, version &2 has NC value type '&3': Compding will be adjusted ?The SAP error message R7538 typically relates to issues with key figures in the context of planning and data aggregation in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP). The message indicates that a key figure has a non-constant (NC) value type, which affects how data is compounded or aggregated.
Cause:
- Non-Constant Value Type: The key figure in question has been defined with a non-constant value type (e.g., NC), which means it cannot be aggregated in the same way as constant value types. This can lead to issues when trying to perform operations that require consistent aggregation.
- Compounding Issues: The error suggests that the system is attempting to compound data for this key figure, but due to its NC value type, the compounding will be adjusted, which may not yield the expected results.
Solution:
- Check Key Figure Definition: Review the definition of the key figure in the planning model or InfoObject. Ensure that the value type is set correctly based on how you intend to use the key figure (e.g., if it should be constant, change it to a constant value type).
- Adjust Compounding Settings: If the key figure is intended to be non-constant, you may need to adjust your compounding settings or the way you are aggregating data to accommodate this. This might involve changing the planning layout or the way data is inputted.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on handling non-constant key figures and their implications for data aggregation.
- Testing: After making changes, test the planning scenario to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the data behaves as expected.
