  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message R7147 - InfoObject &1 is deliverd by SAP as &2 (please rename) ?

The SAP error message R7147 indicates that an InfoObject you are trying to create or modify is being delivered by SAP with a specific name, and it conflicts with the naming conventions or existing objects in your system. The message typically suggests that you need to rename the InfoObject to avoid conflicts with SAP's standard objects.

    Cause:

    1. Naming Conflict: The InfoObject you are trying to create has the same name as an existing SAP-delivered InfoObject.
    2. Custom Development: You may be attempting to create a custom InfoObject that inadvertently uses a name reserved for SAP standard objects.

    Solution:

    1. Rename the InfoObject: The simplest solution is to rename your custom InfoObject to something unique that does not conflict with SAP's naming conventions. Ensure that the new name follows the naming standards set by your organization and SAP.

    2. Check Existing InfoObjects: Before creating a new InfoObject, check the existing InfoObjects in your system to ensure that the name you want to use is not already taken. You can do this by using transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) or RSD1 (InfoObject Maintenance).

    3. Use a Naming Convention: If your organization has a specific naming convention for custom objects (e.g., prefixing with a certain letter or abbreviation), make sure to follow that convention to avoid future conflicts.

    4. Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific InfoObject you are trying to create. This can provide insights into its intended use and any potential conflicts.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might provide additional context or solutions related to the specific InfoObject in question.
    • SAP Community: Engage with the SAP Community forums to see if others have encountered similar issues and what solutions they have found.
    • Transport Requests: If you are working in a development environment, ensure that your changes are properly managed through transport requests to avoid conflicts in other environments (e.g., QA, Production).

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the R7147 error and successfully create or modify your InfoObject in SAP.
