  • Message text: Characteristic &1: Extension can be problematic

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The length of characteristic &V1& has been extended from &V2& to &V3&.

    System Response

If the characteristic itself is compounded, or it appears in the
compounding of other characteristics, these hierarchies become invalid
if you store them concatenated (for example, in hierarchies). In
certain circumstances, you may not be able to activate the
    characteristic.

    How to fix this error?

Only lengthen the characteristic &V1& then, if you are certain that it
is not used in hierarchies as described above or in other objects.
Or check the objects specified above for consistency and adjust them,
    if necessary.
    Note:
The characteristic can also be used as a node in the hierarchies of
    other characteristics.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
