SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: QS - QM: Master data

  • Message number: 849

  • Message text: For characteristic &1 &2, a sampling procedure has not been entered

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A sampling procedure must be assigned to the master inspection
characteristic. However, in the material specification, you have not
yet assigned either a lot-based or an inspection point-based
    sampling procedure.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Select <LS>Goto -> Values</> from the menu bar, and assign a
sampling procedure to the lot-based as well as the inspection
point-based inspection on the values screen.
If you do not enter a sampling procedure, the system uses the sampling
procedure entered in the plan when creating the inspection lot (if
inspections are also carried out using a plan). If no sampling
procedure is entered for the plan, the system uses the sampling
procedure defined in Customizing at plant level.
