QE080
- The values should have a maximum of &1 decimal places ?The SAP error message QE080, which states "The values should have a maximum of &1 decimal places," typically occurs in the context of quality management or when entering numerical data in fields that have specific decimal place restrictions. This error indicates that the value you are trying to enter exceeds the allowed number of decimal places defined for that field.
Cause:
- Decimal Place Restriction: The field you are trying to fill has a defined maximum number of decimal places (e.g., 2 decimal places), and the value you are entering has more decimal places than allowed (e.g., 3.456).
- Configuration Settings: The configuration settings in the SAP system for the specific field or data type may restrict the number of decimal places.
- Data Type Mismatch: The data type of the field may not support the number of decimal places you are trying to enter.
Solution:
- Check the Value: Review the value you are trying to enter and ensure it conforms to the maximum decimal places allowed. For example, if the field allows a maximum of 2 decimal places, round your value accordingly (e.g., change 3.456 to 3.46).
- Field Configuration: If you have access to the configuration settings, check the field settings in the relevant transaction or table to see if the maximum decimal places can be adjusted. This typically requires authorization and should be done with caution.
- Data Entry Guidelines: Follow any data entry guidelines provided by your organization to ensure that you are entering values in the correct format.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's SAP support team for specific guidance related to the field in question.
