Message text: Unit of measure &1 cannot be converted to material base unit of measure
In the order operation, an inspection type is defined for goods receipt

created with the goods receipt posting for the material- if this
inspection type is active for the material in the order (&V2&). An
inspection lot always has the unit of measure defined for the material.
The unit of measure entered cannot be converted into the base unit of
measure.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Enter a unit of measure that can be converted into the base unit of
measure, or exit the transaction and maintain this new unit of measure
as an alternative unit of measure for the material.

QA286
- Unit of measure &1 cannot be converted to material base unit of measure ?The SAP error message QA286, which states "Unit of measure &1 cannot be converted to material base unit of measure," typically occurs in the context of quality management or inventory management when there is an issue with the unit of measure (UoM) conversion for a material.
Cause:
- Incorrect Unit of Measure Configuration: The unit of measure defined for the material may not have a valid conversion factor to the base unit of measure (UoM) defined in the material master.

- Inconsistent UoM Usage: The unit of measure being used in the transaction may not be compatible with the base unit of measure defined for the material.
- Material Master Data Issues: There may be issues with the material master data, such as missing or incorrect entries in the UoM fields.
Solution:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) and check the "Basic Data" and "Purchasing" views.
- Ensure that the base unit of measure is correctly defined and that the unit of measure you are trying to use has a valid conversion factor to the base unit.
Define Conversion Factors:
- If the conversion factors are missing, you can define them in the material master under the "Units of Measure" section. Make sure to specify the correct conversion ratio.
Review UoM Settings:
- Check the configuration of units of measure in the system (transaction code OMT3). Ensure that the units of measure are correctly defined and that they can be converted to the base unit of measure.
Check for Inconsistencies:
- Ensure that the unit of measure being used in the transaction is consistent with the units defined in the material master. If you are using a custom unit of measure, verify that it is set up correctly.
