  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message Q6073 - Delete the structure table(s) for information structure &1 first ?

The SAP error message Q6073, which states "Delete the structure table(s) for information structure &1 first," typically occurs when you are trying to delete an information structure in SAP that still has associated structure tables. This is common in the context of SAP's Information System (SIS) for logistics and other modules where data is aggregated for reporting and analysis.

    Cause:

The error arises because the information structure you are attempting to delete has not been fully cleared of its associated structure tables. These tables hold the data that is used for reporting and analysis, and SAP requires that these tables be deleted before the information structure itself can be removed.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you need to follow these steps:

    1. Identify the Structure Tables: Determine which structure tables are associated with the information structure you are trying to delete. You can usually find this information in the SAP documentation or by checking the configuration of the information structure.

    2. Delete the Structure Tables:

      • Go to the transaction code SIS (or the relevant transaction for your specific module).
      • Navigate to the area where you can manage the information structures.
      • Locate the structure tables associated with the information structure &1.
      • Delete these structure tables. This may involve using specific transaction codes or programs designed for this purpose, such as SIS1 or SIS2, depending on your SAP version.
    3. Delete the Information Structure: Once the structure tables have been successfully deleted, you can proceed to delete the information structure itself.

    4. Check for Dependencies: Ensure that there are no other dependencies or references to the information structure that might prevent its deletion.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as SIS, SIS1, SIS2, or any specific transaction related to your module.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed steps on managing information structures and their associated tables.
    • Backup: Always ensure that you have a backup of your data before performing deletions, as this process can lead to data loss if not handled carefully.
    • Consult with SAP Basis or Functional Team: If you are unsure about the process or the implications of deleting these structures, consult with your SAP Basis or functional team for guidance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the Q6073 error and successfully delete the information structure in question.
