Message text: Generation of schemes/cycles suppressed due to ZDO; handle later in PE04
The system update is handled the with zero downtime option (ZDO). The
after-import method (function module) AFTER_IMP_HR_PE04 therefore cannot
change cluster table PCL2 during the upgrade. This is a prerequisite for
regenerating the functions and operations.
See also SAP Note 2259203.
The upgrade proceeds as normal.
Before the next payroll run, call transaction PE04 and confirm by
choosing the "Activate All" pushbutton. This regenerates the functions
and operations.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

This message indicates that the generation of payroll schemes or cycles has been suppressed due to a Zero-Days-Only (ZDO) condition. Here’s a breakdown of the cause, potential solutions, and related information:
Cause:
- Zero-Days-Only (ZDO) Condition: This condition arises when there are no relevant workdays or pay periods for the employee in question. It often occurs when an employee has not worked during the payroll period or if there are no relevant time data entries.

- Data Entry Errors: Missing or incorrect time data entries for employees can lead to this error, as the payroll process relies on accurate time data to generate payroll results.
Solution:
- Check Employee Time Data: Review the time data for the affected employee(s) to ensure that it is complete and accurate. Make sure that there are no missing entries for the payroll period.
- Review Payroll Configuration: Check the configuration of the payroll schema and rules in transaction PE04. Ensure that the schema is set up to handle ZDO conditions appropriately.
- Run Payroll Simulation: Before running the actual payroll, perform a simulation to identify any potential issues. This can help in diagnosing problems without affecting actual payroll results.
