  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message PQ114 - & "&" has dependent entries and therefore cannot be deleted ?

The SAP error message PQ114 indicates that you are trying to delete a production order or a related object that has dependent entries in the system. This means that there are other records or data linked to the object you are attempting to delete, which prevents the deletion process.

    Cause:

    The error occurs because:

    1. Dependent Entries: The object you are trying to delete has dependent entries in other tables. For example, if you are trying to delete a production order, there may be related documents such as confirmations, reservations, or stock movements that are still linked to it.
    2. Data Integrity: SAP enforces data integrity rules to ensure that deleting an object does not leave orphaned records or inconsistent data in the system.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Identify Dependent Entries:

      • Use transaction codes like CO03 (Display Production Order) or CO02 (Change Production Order) to check for any dependent entries related to the production order.
      • Look for confirmations, reservations, or any other linked documents.
    2. Delete or Archive Dependent Entries:

      • If you find dependent entries, you will need to delete or archive them first. This may involve:
        • Deleting confirmations using transaction CO15 (Confirm Production Order).
        • Deleting reservations using transaction MB22 (Change Reservation).
        • Deleting any related documents that are no longer needed.
    3. Check for Other Dependencies:

      • Ensure that there are no other dependencies such as planned orders, purchase orders, or sales orders that might be linked to the object.
    4. Use the Correct Transaction:

      • Make sure you are using the correct transaction for deletion. For production orders, use COHV (Mass Processing of Production Orders) or CO02 to delete the order.
    5. Consult with Your SAP Administrator:

      • If you are unsure about which entries are dependent or how to proceed, consult with your SAP administrator or a functional consultant who can help you analyze the situation.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CO03, CO02, CO15, MB22, and COHV.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any specific issues or patches related to the error message PQ114.
    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation or help files for more information on handling production orders and their dependencies.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue causing the PQ114 error message in SAP.
