Message type: E = Error
Message class: PPECHK - iPPE Consistency Check
Message number: 325
Message text: Alternative line &1 is assigned at start &2
You have modeled the production line with iPPE. In the master data, an
alternative line exists that in turn contains parallel line segments
(stations). The parallel stations do not have a reporting point at the
start, however, a reporting point exists at the start of the production
line.
This constellation can also lead to problems during confirmation. A
reporting point is inherited along the stations from the back to the
front. It can therefore be inherited at multiple parallel stations. The
reporting point relationships in this case are no longer linear. As a
result, the sequential posting cannot be executed during confirmation.
Remove the assignment of the reporting point at the start of the
alternative line.

PPECHK325
- Alternative line &1 is assigned at start &2 ?The SAP error message PPECHK325 indicates that there is an issue with the assignment of alternative lines in a production planning context, specifically in relation to a routing or production order. The message typically means that an alternative line (or alternative operation) is already assigned to a specific start date, which is causing a conflict.
Cause:
- Duplicate Assignment: The alternative line (or operation) is already assigned to another production order or routing for the specified start date.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the routing or production order that are not allowing for the alternative line to be assigned correctly.
- Data Integrity Issues: There could be inconsistencies in the master data or transactional data that are leading to this error.
Solution:
- Check Assignments: Review the routing or production order to see if the alternative line is already assigned to another operation or order for the same time period. If so, you may need to adjust the scheduling or reassign the alternative line.
- Adjust Dates: If possible, change the start date of the production order or routing to a time when the alternative line is not assigned elsewhere.
- Review Configuration: Ensure that the configuration settings for alternative lines in the routing are set up correctly. This may involve checking the production version or the routing settings in the system.
- Data Consistency Check: Run data consistency checks to ensure that there are no discrepancies in the master data related to the materials, routings, or production orders.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling alternative lines and operations in your version of SAP.
