  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message POC_BOR003 - Could not map BO Type &1 to BOR Object Type in system &2 ?

The SAP error message POC_BOR003 indicates that there is an issue with mapping a Business Object (BO) type to a Business Object Repository (BOR) object type in the specified system. This error typically arises in scenarios involving Business Workflow, Business Object Management, or when integrating with other systems.

    Cause:

    1. Missing or Incorrect Configuration: The specified Business Object type may not be correctly configured in the system. This could be due to missing entries in the BOR or incorrect settings in the Business Object Repository.
    2. Transport Issues: If the Business Object was transported from one system to another, there may have been issues during the transport process, leading to inconsistencies.
    3. Version Mismatch: There may be a version mismatch between the systems involved, where the source system has a different version of the Business Object than the target system.
    4. Authorization Issues: The user or process attempting to access the Business Object may not have the necessary authorizations to view or manipulate the object.

    Solution:

    1. Check Configuration: Verify that the Business Object type exists in the target system and is correctly configured. You can do this by using transaction SWO1 (Business Object Builder) to check the definitions.
    2. Transport Consistency: If the object was transported, ensure that all related objects and dependencies were also transported correctly. You may need to re-transport the Business Object or its dependencies.
    3. Check for Updates: Ensure that both the source and target systems are on compatible versions. If there are updates or patches available, consider applying them.
    4. Authorization Check: Ensure that the user or process has the necessary authorizations to access the Business Object. You can check this using transaction SU53 to analyze authorization issues.
    5. Debugging: If the issue persists, consider debugging the process to identify where the mapping fails. This may involve looking at the code or configuration that attempts to access the Business Object.
