  • What causes this issue?

You are attempting to define a material-independent control cycle for
    release parts.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    System Response

For release parts, the production supply request made in the system is
independent of the production order. The system does not allow the
assignment of release parts to material-independent control cycles
because this does not enable a useful restriction to materials.

    How to fix this error?

Material-independent control cycles are only allowed when using
material staging indicators "1" (direct picking) and "0" (no WMeine
    staging allowed.
If you want to define materials as release parts, create an own
    control cycle for these materials.
