Message text: Package &3: Component type different in PPMS and SDA (see long text)
The component type <ZH>&V1&</> defined in PPMS for software component
release &V2& does not match value <ZH>&V4&</> in the enhanced
package attribute COMP_TYPE of the Software Delivery Assembler (SDA).
The system cancels the activity and the package status is unchanged.
You have the following options to copy the value of the component type
consistently:
If the value <ZH>&V4&</> in the package attribute COMP_TYPE is correct,
change the value in PPMS. Then run the required activity again in the
SDA.
However, if value <ZH>&V1&</> is to be copied from the PPMS, change
the COMP_TYPE attribute. To do this, register the package with the
"Change Attributes" option. Then you can run the required activity
again.
Check the component type in PPMS:
<ZK>Transaction BOPP-->Software Components by Technical Name or
Release-->Technical Name (Software Component)/Techn. Release (Release)
-->Go-->Link Name of Object-->ABAP Component Layer</>
If required, contact the ABAP Assembly Owner for software component
release &V2&. You find this using the menu function in the SDA: Enter
the name of the package in the "Package" field on the "Administration"
tab page and choose <ZH>Environment-->PPMS Contacts</>.

- Package &3: Component type different in PPMS and SDA (see long text) ?The SAP error message OT514 indicates a mismatch in the component type between the Product and Process Management System (PPMS) and the Software Distribution Application (SDA). This error typically arises when there is an inconsistency in the component definitions or configurations between these two systems.
Cause:
- Component Type Mismatch: The component type defined in PPMS does not match the one defined in SDA. This can happen if there have been changes in the component configuration or if the component was incorrectly defined in one of the systems.
- Version Discrepancies: Different versions of the same component may be defined in PPMS and SDA, leading to a mismatch.
- Transport Issues: If the transport of changes between systems was not executed properly, it could lead to inconsistencies.
- Manual Changes: Manual changes made directly in one of the systems without corresponding updates in the other can also lead to this error.
Solution:
- Check Component Definitions: Verify the component definitions in both PPMS and SDA. Ensure that the component types are consistent across both systems.
- Synchronize Versions: If there are version discrepancies, update the component in one of the systems to match the other.
- Review Transport Requests: Check if there are any pending transport requests that need to be executed to synchronize the systems.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific component for any known issues or additional steps that may be required.
- Recreate Component: If the issue persists, consider deleting and recreating the component in one of the systems to ensure that it is correctly defined.
