OM479
- You cannot delete as process category &1 is assigned to category &2 ?The SAP error message OM479 indicates that you are trying to delete a process category that is currently assigned to another category. This is a common issue in SAP when dealing with process categories in the context of production planning or other related modules.
Cause:
The error occurs because the process category you are attempting to delete is still linked to another category. In SAP, certain configurations and settings are interdependent, and deleting a category that is in use can lead to inconsistencies in the system.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you need to follow these steps:
Identify Dependencies: Determine where the process category (indicated by &1) is being used. You can do this by checking the configuration settings in the relevant module (e.g., Production Planning, Quality Management).
Remove Assignments: Before you can delete the process category, you must first remove any assignments or links to it. This may involve:
- Navigating to the relevant configuration settings (e.g., SPRO) and finding where the process category is assigned.
- Unassigning the process category from the category it is linked to (indicated by &2).
Delete the Process Category: Once all assignments have been removed, you can attempt to delete the process category again.
Check for Other Dependencies: If the error persists, ensure that there are no other dependencies or references to the process category in other areas of the system.
