  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message OIUPR805 - More than 1 well exists the DN and a TCM of Single Well has been chosen ?

The SAP error message OIUPR805 indicates that there is a conflict in the configuration of a well in the system. Specifically, it means that more than one well is associated with a specific Delivery Network (DN), but the system is set to use a Transaction Control Method (TCM) of "Single Well." This situation creates a conflict because the "Single Well" TCM is designed to work with only one well at a time.

    Cause:

    1. Multiple Wells in Delivery Network: The primary cause of this error is that the Delivery Network (DN) has been configured to include multiple wells, but the system is trying to process it as if it only has one well.
    2. Incorrect TCM Selection: The TCM selected for the operation is "Single Well," which is incompatible with the presence of multiple wells in the DN.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Review the Delivery Network Configuration:

      • Check the configuration of the Delivery Network to see how many wells are associated with it. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction in SAP that allows you to view or edit Delivery Network settings.
    2. Change the TCM:

      • If the Delivery Network is indeed supposed to handle multiple wells, consider changing the TCM from "Single Well" to a TCM that supports multiple wells, such as "Multiple Wells" or another appropriate option.
    3. Adjust Well Assignments:

      • If the intention is to only work with a single well, you may need to adjust the configuration of the Delivery Network to ensure that only one well is assigned to it. This may involve removing other wells from the DN.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's SAP support resources for specific guidance on configuring Delivery Networks and Transaction Control Methods.
    5. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, test the configuration to ensure that the error does not reoccur and that the system behaves as expected.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes in SAP that pertain to well and delivery network management, such as OIUPR (for upstream processes).
    • SAP Notes: Check for any SAP Notes related to this error message for additional insights or patches that may address the issue.
    • User Roles and Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to make changes to the Delivery Network and TCM settings.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a technical consultant who specializes in SAP upstream processes.
