Message text: Sum of corrected and initial rack forecast cannot be less than 0
In Customizing you have defined that the system adds the rack forecast
corrections to the forecast. The corrections made to the forecast
figures were less than zero. However, the sum of such negative
corrections and the original rack forecast figure must not be greater
than zero.
When you save data after making changes, the system saves them all
except for corrections to forecasts.
After your changes, the corrected rack forecast figure must not be
greater than zero.

Cause:
This error arises when the system detects that the total of the corrected forecast and the initial forecast for a specific rack (or storage location) results in a negative value. This situation can occur due to:
- Incorrect Data Entry: A user may have entered negative values for the corrected forecast or the initial forecast.
- Forecast Adjustments: Adjustments made to the forecast may have inadvertently led to a situation where the sum of the forecasts is negative.
- System Configuration Issues: There may be issues with how the forecasting module is configured, leading to incorrect calculations.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Review Forecast Data:
- Check the initial and corrected forecast values for the affected rack. Ensure that both values are correctly entered and that their sum is not negative.
- If necessary, adjust the values to ensure that the sum is zero or positive.
Adjust Forecasts:
- If the corrected forecast is meant to reduce the initial forecast, ensure that it does not exceed the initial forecast to the point of creating a negative total.
- Consider revising the forecast strategy or methodology if frequent adjustments lead to this error.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources related to the forecasting module to understand the expected behavior and constraints.
Check Configuration:
- If the issue persists, consult with your SAP Basis or configuration team to ensure that the forecasting module is set up correctly and that there are no underlying configuration issues.
User Training:
- Provide training to users involved in data entry and forecasting to minimize the chances of incorrect data being entered in the future.
