  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message OB203 - &1 cond. records were replicated, from which &2 BI Sessions were created ?

The SAP error message OB203 indicates an issue related to the replication of condition records in the SAP system, particularly in the context of SAP Business Intelligence (BI) or SAP BW (Business Warehouse). The message format typically looks like this:

OB203 &1 cond. records were replicated, from which &2 BI Sessions were created.

    Cause:

    1. Data Replication Issues: The error usually arises when there is a problem with the replication of condition records from the SAP ERP system to the SAP BW system. This could be due to various reasons, such as:

      • Incomplete or incorrect configuration of the data source.
      • Issues with the extraction process.
      • Problems with the data transfer process.
      • Missing or incorrect authorization for the user performing the replication.
    2. Session Management: The message indicates that a certain number of condition records were replicated, but not all of them may have been successfully processed into BI sessions. This could be due to errors during the session creation or processing.

    Solution:

    1. Check Configuration: Ensure that the configuration for the data source in SAP BW is correct. This includes checking the extraction settings and ensuring that the data source is properly set up to replicate condition records.

    2. Monitor Data Transfer: Use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to monitor the data transfer process. Check for any errors or warnings in the data load monitor.

    3. Review Logs: Check the logs for the data transfer process to identify any specific errors that may have occurred during the replication of condition records. You can use transaction SM37 to view job logs and see if there are any failed jobs related to the replication.

    4. Check Authorizations: Ensure that the user performing the replication has the necessary authorizations to access the condition records and create BI sessions.

    5. Reprocess Sessions: If there are failed sessions, you may need to reprocess them. You can do this through the Data Transfer Process (DTP) in SAP BW.

    6. Consult SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error message or provide additional troubleshooting steps.
