Message text: Compoundings of characteristic &1 and mapping characteristic &2 not equal
You are trying to add characteristic &V1& to InfoProvider &V3& by
filling it with values from characteristic &V2& which is already present
in InfoProvider &V3&. As at least one of the two characteristics &V1&
and &V2& is compounded to an InfoObject which is not part of the list of
compounding InfoObjects of the other characteristic<(>,<)> you cannot
use characteristic &V2& to fill the newly added characteristic &V1& with
values.
The required action cannot be performed.
Either sure that the list of compoundings is the same for characteristic
&V1& and &V2&<(>,<)> or choose another characteristic which has the same
list of compoundings as characteristic &V2& and add this instead of
characteristic &V1&.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

NRSCNV399
- Compoundings of characteristic &1 and mapping characteristic &2 not equal ?The SAP error message NRSCNV399 indicates that there is a mismatch between the compoundings of two characteristics during a data conversion or migration process. Specifically, it suggests that the compoundings of the characteristic specified as &1 do not match the compoundings of the mapping characteristic specified as &2. This can occur in scenarios such as data migration, where characteristics are being transformed or mapped from one format to another.
Cause:
- Mismatch in Characteristics: The compoundings of the two characteristics are not aligned. This could be due to differences in the way the characteristics are defined in the source and target systems.
- Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the data itself, such as missing values or incorrect mappings.
- Configuration Issues: The configuration settings for the characteristics in the SAP system may not be set up correctly, leading to discrepancies in how they are interpreted.
Solution:
- Check Characteristic Definitions: Review the definitions of both characteristics in the SAP system. Ensure that they are configured correctly and that their compoundings are aligned.
- Validate Data: Examine the data being migrated or converted. Look for any inconsistencies or errors in the values associated with the characteristics. Correct any discrepancies found.
- Adjust Mapping: If the mapping between the two characteristics is incorrect, adjust the mapping to ensure that it reflects the correct relationships and compoundings.
- Use Transaction Codes: Utilize relevant transaction codes (like RSA1 for Data Warehousing or other relevant ones) to analyze and correct the data model and mappings.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific characteristics and their compoundings for additional guidance.
- Testing: After making changes, perform tests to ensure that the error does not reoccur and that the data is being processed correctly.
