NRSCNV383
- Data type, length or number of decimals in mapping key figure is wrong ?The SAP error message NRSCNV383 typically occurs during the data transfer or mapping process in SAP systems, particularly when working with key figures in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA. This error indicates that there is a mismatch in the data type, length, or number of decimal places defined for a key figure in the mapping process.
Cause:
Data Type Mismatch: The data type of the source key figure does not match the data type of the target key figure. For example, if the source is defined as a decimal and the target is defined as an integer, this will cause an error.
Length Mismatch: The length of the data being transferred exceeds the defined length of the target key figure. For instance, if the source key figure has a length of 10 and the target is defined with a length of 5, this will lead to an error.
Decimal Places Mismatch: The number of decimal places in the source key figure does not match the number of decimal places defined in the target key figure. For example, if the source key figure has 2 decimal places and the target is defined with 0 decimal places, this will cause an issue.
Solution:
Check Data Types: Verify that the data types of the source and target key figures match. If they do not, you may need to adjust the data type of either the source or target key figure in the data model.
Adjust Lengths: Ensure that the length of the source key figure does not exceed the length defined for the target key figure. If necessary, increase the length of the target key figure to accommodate the data being transferred.
Align Decimal Places: Check the number of decimal places for both the source and target key figures. Adjust the target key figure to match the decimal places of the source key figure, or vice versa, depending on your business requirements.
Data Mapping: Review the mapping configuration in the transformation or data flow to ensure that all key figures are correctly mapped and that their properties align.
Testing: After making the necessary adjustments, perform a test run of the data transfer to ensure that the error has been resolved.
