What causes this issue?

You wanted to maintain consumption values. However, this is not
possible in the following cases:
When scheduling the creation or changing of a material
If you have not specified a plant
If the material is configurable and you have not set quantity updating
for the material type of the material and for the plant (see below)

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check and extend your data as required.
You can set quantity updating in Material Master Customizing under
<LS>Material</> -> <LS>Control Data</> -> <LS>Define attributes of
material types</>.
