- The base unit of measure for the material & is locked by the user & ?The SAP error message MM113 indicates that the base unit of measure for a material is locked by a user. This typically occurs when a user is trying to perform an operation (like changing the material master data) on a material whose base unit of measure is currently being edited or locked by another user.

- If you have the necessary permissions, you can delete the lock entry if you determine that the user is no longer working on it.
Wait for Release:
- If another user is legitimately working on the material, you may need to wait until they finish their task and release the lock.
Communicate with Users:
- If you identify that another user is working on the material, communicate with them to understand when they expect to finish.
Check for Background Jobs:
- Sometimes, background jobs may also lock materials. Use transaction code SM37 to check for any background jobs that might be running and holding locks on the material.
System Restart:
- In rare cases, if the lock persists and you cannot identify the cause, a system restart may be necessary, but this should be done with caution and typically requires coordination with your SAP Basis team.
