This situation typically arises when the system is unable to determine which GTIN to use for a given material and unit of measure combination, leading to ambiguity.

- Configuration Issues: There may be issues in the configuration of the material master data, particularly in the GTIN assignment.
- Data Entry Errors: Incorrect or duplicate entries in the material master data can lead to this error.
Solution:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) and check the GTIN assignments for the material.
- Ensure that there is only one main GTIN assigned for each unit of measure.
Adjust GTIN Assignments:
- If multiple GTINs are found, determine which GTIN should be the main one for the specific unit of measure.
- Remove or deactivate the unnecessary GTINs to ensure that only one main GTIN is assigned.
Review Unit of Measure Settings:
- Check the unit of measure settings for the material to ensure they are correctly configured.
- Make sure that the GTINs are correctly linked to the appropriate units of measure.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on managing GTINs and material master data.
