  • You can use this function in an ALE scenario where generic articles and
their variants need to be distributed from an SAP S/4HANA system to an
    SAP ERP system.
In an SAP ERP system, there are no configuration classes; therefore, all
variant-creating characteristics of a configuration class must also be
assigned to a material group or to a characteristics profile.
This function allows you to create a characteristics profile with the
same name and the same variant-creating characteristics as the
configuration class and assign this characteristics profile to a
material group if the material group does not contain all variant-
creating characteristics of the configuration class.
When generic articles are created, they are assigned to a configuration
class and to a corresponding characteristics profile.
You can perform all other operations<(>,<)> such as displaying or
deleting an assignment<(>,<)> by using the corresponding functions for
    the characteristics profiles.
