Message class: MDG_REF_DATA - Message Class for Reference Data messages
Message number: 001
Message text: Replication failed due to incorrect data entries for table type &1
Replication failed due to invalid mapping entries in view
V_MDG_RD_MAPPING for table type &V1& and view &V2&.
Correct the corresponding mapping entries in V_MDG_RD_MAPPING for the
referenced data replication.
Verify that the following data in the referenced data mapping view is
correct:
TABLETYPE: Name of the table type generated during the creation of the
corresponding interface model.
Open <LS>MDGIMG -> General Settings -> Data Replication -> Enhance
Default Settings for Outbound Implementations -> Define Outbound
Interface Models</>.
Select the corresponding interface model and choose <LS>Display </>to
open the <LS>Outbound Interface Model</> application. Select the
<LS>Entities and Attributes</> tab. The name mentioned under <LS>Table
Type Name </>is the required table type.
OBJECTNAME: Name of the reuse view to which the data has to be
replicated.
OBJECTTYPE: Type of object used in OBJECTNAME, generally <LB>V</> for
view.
MAPPING: The SMT mapping created for mapping the fields from flex to

MDG_REF_DATA001
- Replication failed due to incorrect data entries for table type &1 ?The SAP error message MDG_REF_DATA001 indicates that there was a failure in the replication process due to incorrect data entries in a specific table type. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) when trying to replicate reference data to a target system.
Cause:
The error can be caused by several factors, including but not limited to:
- Data Integrity Issues: The data being replicated may not meet the required integrity constraints or validation rules defined in the target system.
- Missing Required Fields: Certain mandatory fields may be missing in the data being replicated.
- Data Format Issues: The format of the data may not match the expected format in the target system (e.g., incorrect date formats, numeric values, etc.).
- Inconsistent Data: There may be inconsistencies in the data, such as duplicate entries or references to non-existent records.
- Configuration Issues: The configuration settings for the replication process may not be correctly set up, leading to failures.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can follow these steps:
Check the Error Log: Review the detailed error log to identify the specific data entries that are causing the replication failure. This can often be found in transaction codes like SLG1 (Application Log) or in the MDG-specific logs.
Validate Data: Ensure that the data being replicated adheres to the required formats and integrity constraints. Check for:
- Missing mandatory fields
- Correct data types and formats
- No duplicate entries
- Valid references to other master data
Correct Data Entries: Once you identify the incorrect data entries, correct them in the source system. This may involve updating records, adding missing information, or removing duplicates.
Test Replication: After making the necessary corrections, attempt to replicate the data again to see if the issue is resolved.
Review Configuration: If the problem persists, review the configuration settings for the replication process in both the source and target systems to ensure they are correctly set up.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to MDG and replication processes for any specific guidelines or known issues.
Seek Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for further assistance.
