Message text: Delta leaf &1 cannot be deleted manually
You attempted to delete a technical leaf (that is, a delta node) in the
hierarchy. This is not possible because the delta node is assigned as
an attribute to the higher-level, non-postable hierarchy node.
The delta node cannot be deleted.
If you want to allocate a different delta node to the hierarchy node,
this is only possible by maintaining the appropriate value of the node
characteristic. The next time the hierarchy is read, the new delta node
will automatically appear in the hierarchy structure.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

MDG_MDF306
- Delta leaf &1 cannot be deleted manually ?The SAP error message MDG_MDF306 indicates that a delta leaf (a specific version of a data object in the Master Data Governance (MDG) framework) cannot be deleted manually. This typically occurs in the context of managing master data in SAP MDG, where delta leaves represent changes or versions of master data records.
Cause:
The error usually arises due to one of the following reasons:
Data Integrity Constraints: The delta leaf may be linked to other records or processes that prevent its deletion. For example, if the delta leaf is part of an active workflow or is referenced by other master data objects, it cannot be deleted.
Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary permissions to delete the delta leaf.
System Configuration: Certain configurations in the MDG system may restrict the deletion of delta leaves to maintain data integrity.
Status of the Delta Leaf: The delta leaf might be in a status that does not allow deletion (e.g., it may be approved or in use).
Solution:
To resolve the error, consider the following steps:
Check Dependencies: Investigate if the delta leaf is linked to other records or processes. You may need to complete or terminate any workflows or processes that are using the delta leaf.
Review Authorizations: Ensure that the user attempting to delete the delta leaf has the appropriate authorizations. You may need to consult with your SAP security team to verify and adjust user roles if necessary.
Change Status: If the delta leaf is in a status that prevents deletion, you may need to change its status to allow for deletion. This could involve changing it to a draft or inactive state.
Consult Documentation: Review the SAP documentation or help resources related to MDG and delta leaves for any specific guidelines or restrictions regarding deletion.
Use Transaction Codes: If applicable, use relevant transaction codes (like MDG_MDF or others) to manage the master data and check for any inconsistencies.
Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot identify the cause, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.
