Message text: Change request &1 cannot have more than one material with classification
If you use classification data in master data governance, a change
request may only contain the data of a single material and its
classification at the same time. You cannot save classification data
into the active area unless the change request contains only data for
one material.
If the change request contains data for more than one material and
classification, for example multiple materials and one classification or
multiple materials and multiple classifications, the classification data
cannot be saved into the active area. The activation of the change
request will fail.
Move the additional materials and their classification data to separate
change requests.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

MDG_BS_MAT_ACCESS008
- Change request &1 cannot have more than one material with classification ?The SAP error message MDG_BS_MAT_ACCESS008 indicates that a change request in the Master Data Governance (MDG) system is attempting to process more than one material that has the same classification. This situation typically arises when you are trying to create or modify multiple materials in a single change request, and those materials share the same classification.
Cause:
- Multiple Materials with Same Classification: The error occurs when the change request includes multiple materials that are classified under the same classification type. In MDG, each classification type can only be associated with one material in a change request to maintain data integrity.
- Data Model Restrictions: The underlying data model in MDG may have restrictions that prevent multiple materials with the same classification from being processed together in a single change request.
Solution:
- Separate Change Requests: The most straightforward solution is to separate the materials into different change requests. Ensure that each change request contains only one material with its associated classification.
- Review Change Request Contents: Check the contents of the change request to identify which materials are causing the conflict. Remove or separate the materials that share the same classification.
- Adjust Classification: If applicable, consider adjusting the classification of the materials so that they do not conflict. However, this may not always be feasible depending on business requirements.
- Consult Documentation: Review the MDG documentation or consult with your SAP support team to understand any specific configurations or restrictions that may apply to your system.
