- Relationship structure of & & inconsistent ?The SAP error message MC676, which states "Relationship structure of & & inconsistent," typically occurs in the context of Material Management (MM) or Production Planning (PP) modules when there is an inconsistency in the relationship structure of a material or a bill of materials (BOM). This inconsistency can arise from various reasons, such as incorrect data entries, missing relationships, or issues during data migration.
Causes:
- Inconsistent BOM Data: The BOM may have been altered, and the relationships between components and the parent material are not correctly defined.
- Missing or Incorrect Relationships: There may be missing links between materials or incorrect assignment of components in the BOM.
- Data Migration Issues: If data was migrated from another system, inconsistencies may have been introduced during the transfer.
- Changes in Material Master: Changes in the material master data that are not reflected in the BOM can lead to inconsistencies.
- Versioning Issues: If multiple versions of a BOM exist, there may be conflicts between them.
Solutions:
- Check BOM Structure: Use transaction code CS03 (Display BOM) to review the BOM structure for the material in question. Ensure that all components are correctly assigned and that there are no missing relationships.
- Recreate BOM: If the BOM is severely corrupted, consider recreating it from scratch to ensure all relationships are correctly defined.
- Use Transaction Code C223: This transaction allows you to check and correct the BOM relationships. You can analyze the structure and make necessary adjustments.
- Data Consistency Check: Run a consistency check using transaction code CTC1 or CTC2 to identify and correct inconsistencies in the BOM.
- Review Material Master Data: Ensure that the material master data is complete and accurate. Check for any changes that may have affected the BOM.
- Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant notes or patches that may address this specific error.
