Message class: MC - Aggregate: views, matchcodes, lock objects
Message number: 281
Message text: Pool & does not yet exist in the database
When activating a matchcode object, no pool corresponding to this
object was found in the database.
On activation the system merely issues a warning to this effect. The
pool must be created separately on the database.
The pool belonging to the matchcode object must be created in the
database before data is constructed for this matchcode object (using
the SAPMACO program, for example), at the latest prior to activation of
a matchcode which is to be constructed synchronously. This is done with
the function "Matchcode pool" -> "Create" from the "Utilities" menu of
the matchcode object maintenance screen.

- Pool & does not yet exist in the database ?The SAP error message MC281, which states "Pool & does not yet exist in the database," typically occurs in the context of the SAP Material Management (MM) module, particularly when dealing with the Material Master or Inventory Management. This error indicates that the system is trying to access a data pool (such as a storage location, plant, or material) that has not been created or is not available in the database.
Causes:
- Missing Data: The specified pool (e.g., storage location, plant, or material) has not been created in the system.

Solutions:
Check Existence: Verify if the pool (storage location, plant, or material) exists in the database. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction codes (e.g., MM03 for Material Master, or OX09 for Storage Locations).
Create Missing Entries: If the pool does not exist, create it using the appropriate transaction code. For example, use MM01 to create a new material or OX10 to create a new storage location.
Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings in the SAP system to ensure that all necessary pools are defined correctly. This may involve reviewing settings in SPRO (SAP Project Reference Object) for Material Management.
Data Migration Review: If the error occurred after a data migration, review the migration logs and ensure that all necessary data was transferred correctly.
Authorization Check: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access the pool. This can be checked in the user roles and profiles.
