Message class: MA - Sales and Operations Planning
Message number: 426
Message text: Proportional factors successfully calculated
You have selected the option for calculating the proportional factors
on the basis of actual data.
Consistent Planning
The system has totaled the data at the most detailed level of your
planning hierarchy with reference to a specific version (normally
version 000) and time period, and divided the key figure of each
characteristic value by this total. A proportional factor has therefore
been calculated for each characteristic value at the detailed level.
Level-By-Level Planning
In level-by-level planning, the proportional factors express the
relationships of characteristic values on adjacent planning levels.
If you executed this function as part of the planning hierarchy
maintenance transaction, the system will have calculated the
proportional factors of all the characteristic values at the level you
are currently planning.
If you executed this function from the flexible planning menu, the
system will have calculated proportional factors for all the
characteristic values at the specified planning level as well as for
all the characteristic values on lower planning levels.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Instead, it is an informational message indicating that the system has successfully calculated proportional factors for a particular process, typically related to material management or production planning.
Cause:
The message MA426 is triggered during processes where proportional factors are calculated, such as during the creation or adjustment of production orders, material requirements planning (MRP), or inventory management. The calculation of proportional factors is often necessary for determining how materials should be allocated or how production should be scheduled based on various parameters.
Solution:
Since MA426 is an informational message rather than an error, there is no specific "solution" required. However, if you are seeing this message and it is part of a larger process, you may want to ensure that:
- Data Accuracy: Verify that the data being used for the calculation (e.g., material quantities, production rates) is accurate and up to date.
- Process Flow: Ensure that the process flow is being followed correctly and that subsequent steps are being executed as expected.
- Review Logs: If you are expecting an error or issue to occur after this message, check the logs or subsequent messages for any actual errors that may need to be addressed.
