  • What causes this issue?

    A new batch is created by the transfer posting.

    According to Customizing configurations, the newly created batch is to
    be classified in the case of goods movements. For this purpose, the
    system suggests an assignment of values to characteristics on the basis
    of the issuing batch.

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Depending on the settings in the Customizing system, you have the option
    to delete the assignments, or use a different class for the assignment
    of values, or change the assignment of values via ->Goto -> Classify
    batch.
    You can only change the class, if
    the material has not yet been classified
    none of the batches of the material has yet been classified
