  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message LTR2_RN089 - Mapping not built due to incompatible NR objects, see details in monitor ?

The SAP error message LTR2_RN089 indicates that a mapping could not be built due to incompatible Non-Relational (NR) objects. This typically occurs in the context of SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) or SAP Data Services when trying to replicate or transform data from one system to another.

    Cause:

    1. Incompatible Data Types: The source and target systems may have incompatible data types for the fields being mapped. For example, a field in the source system might be defined as a string, while the corresponding field in the target system is defined as an integer.

    2. Missing or Incorrect Mapping: The mapping configuration may be incomplete or incorrect, leading to incompatibility between the source and target objects.

    3. Changes in Source Structure: If there have been changes in the source data structure (like adding or removing fields), it can lead to incompatibility with the existing mappings.

    4. Data Model Differences: Differences in the data model between the source and target systems can also cause this error. For instance, if the target system expects a certain hierarchy or relationship that is not present in the source.

    Solution:

    1. Check the Monitor: As suggested in the error message, check the SLT or Data Services monitor for detailed information about the incompatible objects. This will provide insights into which specific objects are causing the issue.

    2. Review Mapping Configuration: Go through the mapping configuration to ensure that all fields are correctly mapped and that the data types are compatible. Adjust the mappings as necessary.

    3. Adjust Data Types: If there are data type mismatches, consider adjusting the data types in either the source or target system to ensure compatibility.

    4. Update Data Model: If the source structure has changed, update the mappings to reflect these changes. Ensure that the target system can accommodate the new structure.

    5. Test the Mapping: After making adjustments, test the mapping again to ensure that the error has been resolved.

    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or support resources for specific guidance on handling NR object mappings and troubleshooting related issues.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might address this specific error or provide additional troubleshooting steps.
    • SLT Documentation: Review the official SAP SLT documentation for best practices on mapping and data replication.
    • Community Forums: Engage with SAP community forums or user groups where similar issues may have been discussed, and solutions shared.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the error and implement a solution to resolve it.
