quants after you have changed the field.
To do this, use the program <DS:RE.RLS10200>RLS10200</>.

LT159
- Changing unit of weight can cause inconsistencies in the database ?The SAP error message LT159, which states "Changing unit of weight can cause inconsistencies in the database," typically occurs when there is an attempt to change the unit of measure (UoM) for weight in a way that could lead to inconsistencies in the data stored in the SAP system. This can happen in various contexts, such as during inventory management, material master updates, or when processing goods movements.
Cause:
- Unit of Measure Change: The error is triggered when there is an attempt to change the unit of measure for a material that is already in use in transactions, such as stock movements, sales orders, or purchase orders.
- Data Integrity: SAP has built-in checks to ensure data integrity. Changing the unit of measure for weight can lead to discrepancies in stock levels, valuation, and reporting if not handled properly.
- Existing Transactions: If there are existing transactions that reference the current unit of measure, changing it could lead to inconsistencies in how quantities are calculated and reported.
Solution:
- Review Existing Transactions: Before changing the unit of measure, review any existing transactions that may be affected. This includes checking stock levels, open purchase orders, sales orders, and any other relevant documents.
- Use the Correct Procedure: If a change is necessary, follow the proper procedure for changing the unit of measure in SAP. This often involves:
- Ensuring that no open transactions are using the material in the current unit of measure.
- Using transaction codes like MM02 (Change Material) to update the material master data.
- Making sure to update all relevant views (e.g., purchasing, sales, and storage).
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on changing units of measure. This may include checking for any prerequisites or steps that need to be followed.
- Testing: If possible, test the change in a development or quality assurance environment before applying it in the production environment to ensure that it does not lead to inconsistencies.
- Seek Help from SAP Support: If you are unsure about the implications of changing the unit of measure or if the error persists, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for assistance.
