  • What causes this issue?

The audit area concept intends that the Customizing for all object types
in an audit area to be bundled centrally. This means you make the
assignment in a specific system and transport it from there. Therefore,
you are not permitted to change the assignment of object types for an
audit area in random development systems of an application with the goal
of delivering these changes. To change an audit area for delivery, you
need change the relevant assignment of an object type to an audit area
in the NetWeaver development system intended for this by the <ZH>SAP ILM
Team</>. If you have the necessary authorization, you can then transport
    it from there.
<ZH>This is relevant only for internal SAP development, not for
    customers.</>

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

As a rule, you should not transport the assignment of object types to
audit areas. To make local changes in your system, use a local order
    instead of an transportable order.
If you really want to transport data, check your authorizations here:

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message LRM096 - No authorization to transport data ?

The SAP error message LRM096: No authorization to transport data typically occurs when a user attempts to transport data (such as customizing settings, development objects, etc.) but lacks the necessary authorizations to perform this action. This is a common issue in SAP systems, especially in environments with strict authorization controls.

    Cause:

The primary cause of this error is that the user does not have the required authorizations assigned to their user profile to perform transport operations. This can happen due to:

    1. Missing Roles or Authorizations: The user may not have the appropriate roles assigned that include the necessary authorization objects for transport activities.
    2. Transport Management Configuration: The transport management system (TMS) may have specific configurations that restrict certain users from performing transport operations.
    3. User Profile Issues: The user profile may not be correctly set up or may have been modified, leading to a lack of necessary permissions.

    Solution:

To resolve the LRM096 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check User Authorizations:

      • Use transaction code SU53 immediately after the error occurs to check the authorization check that failed. This will provide insight into which specific authorization object is missing.
      • Alternatively, you can use transaction SU01 to review the user's roles and authorizations.
    2. Assign Necessary Roles:

      • If the user lacks the required roles, you may need to assign roles that include the necessary authorizations for transport activities. Common roles that may include transport authorizations are:
        • SAP_ALL (for full access, but use with caution)
        • Specific roles related to transport management (e.g., SAP_TMS_ADMIN, SAP_TMS_USER).
    3. Consult with Security Team:

      • If you do not have the authority to change user roles or authorizations, contact your SAP security or basis team. They can review the user's authorizations and make the necessary adjustments.
    4. Review Transport Management Configuration:

      • Ensure that the transport management system is correctly configured and that there are no restrictions in place that would prevent the user from performing transport operations.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes to the user’s roles or authorizations, have the user log out and log back in to ensure that the changes take effect. Then, attempt the transport operation again.

    Related Information:

    • Authorization Objects: Common authorization objects related to transport activities include:

      • S_TRANSPRT: Transport Management authorization.
      • S_DEVELOP: Development authorization.
