  • What causes this issue?

The storage location assigned to the production storage type as an
alternative storage location must be identical with the storage
location of the corresponding production supply area (PSA).
In a control cycle, a production storage bin in a PSA is defined by
specifying the storage type and the storage bin. This means that the
control cycle defines the assignment of a storage type to a PSA. The
storage location of the PSA is copied into the reservations. As a
result, material used for production is also taken from this storage
location. The storage location of the storage type determines whether
the supply of material to this storage type must initiate a stock
posting change, if this storage location is not identical with the
storage location of the quant staged.
The storage location of the production storage type must be identical
with the storage location for the consumption posting. Otherwise, the
staging and consumption postings will be made to different storage
locations. Although the staging posting would increase stock, the
consumption posting would not be able to reduce it.
