Message text: The existing operations belong to a different sequence!
You tried to move an operation from one work center to another. There
are already operations at the target work center which belong to a
sequence that is different from the one to which the new operation
belongs.
Therefore, if you move this operation, there would be operations from
two sequences on the work center. This is not possible in line
balancing.
In order to edit routings using line balancing, each work center must
only contain operations from one routing. Moving this operation to the
target work center infringes this restriction.
It is not possible to move the operation to the new work center.
Make sure that the operations, which you want to move between work
centers, are all in the same sequence.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- The existing operations belong to a different sequence! ?The SAP error message LD457 ("The existing operations belong to a different sequence") typically occurs in the context of production planning and control, particularly when dealing with routing and operations in a production order or a planned order. This error indicates that there is a mismatch between the operations that are being processed and the sequence of operations defined in the routing.
Cause:
- Routing Mismatch: The operations that are already assigned to the order do not match the sequence defined in the routing for the material.
- Incorrect Order Type: The order type may not be compatible with the routing or the operations defined.
- Changes in Routing: If the routing has been changed after the operations were assigned to the order, it can lead to this error.
- Manual Changes: Manual changes to the operations in the order that do not conform to the routing sequence can trigger this error.
Solution:
- Check Routing: Verify the routing assigned to the production order. Ensure that the operations in the routing match the operations in the order.
- Reassign Operations: If there are discrepancies, you may need to delete the existing operations in the order and reassign them according to the correct routing sequence.
- Review Order Type: Ensure that the order type is appropriate for the routing being used.
- Update Routing: If the routing has been changed, consider updating the production order to reflect the new routing or create a new order if necessary.
- Use Transaction Codes: Use transaction codes like CO02 (Change Production Order) to make necessary adjustments to the operations.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific guidance related to your configuration and version.
